Papain (Papaya Enzyme)

Papain is a natural proteolytic enzyme (molecular weight around 23,000 daltons) extracted from Carica papaya latex. Papain “softens” and digests the protein components of the intercellular matrix. The drawback of papain in its natural state is its molecular size; it could penetrate deeper into the skin than might be desired. *This active ingredient avoids this issue. When the active papain enzyme is crosslinked onto carbomer, its size and molecular weight increase (from 23,000 daltons to 900,000 daltons). This allows it to remain on the surface of the skin. Exfoliation of dead and damaged skin cells from the skin’s surface enhances skin smoothness and actually encourages the development of newer cells. The result is smoother, younger-looking skin.

Vege AHA Complex (Glycerin, Sodium Lactate, Glycolic Acid, Sucrose, Urea, Sodium Citrate, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid)

Hydroxy Acids strengthened with moisturizing agents of the superficial epidermal layers. It has moisturisation/hydroretaining properties to improve softness. It also helps in the renewal of the epidermal superficial layers by activating exfoliation or reducing the cohesion of corneocytes. It can also strengthen the natural acidity of higher cutaneous layers, thus, reinforcing the epidermal barrier. It helps in the improvement of skin tone. *VEGE AHA Complex at 5% shows a significant cell renewal stimulating effect.

3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid
